The Center for Cultural Exchange & Education operates the program by publishing the DS-2019 directly with the approval of the U.S. government and SEVIS. The rapid growth of overseas internships allows many companies to leverage international internship programs to provide new perspectives and cultural insights for their companies and to create a path for international business. Our goal is to provide a rewarding internship program for both participating students and host companies.
BENEFITS OF HOSTING J-1 INTERNS
CUT COSTS AND SAVE ON TAXES
Host companies do not pay Medicare, Social Security or Unemployment Taxes on International Students since each participants have pre-paid health insurance and sufficient funds to cover their cost of living

QUALIFIED AND PROFESSIONAL INTERNS
All interns are currently enrolled in a university or post secondary institution and studied in a related field
FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND OTHER LANGUAGES
All interns are expected to meet a certain criteria of English language proficiency and are required to pass an interview with us
ALL THE APPLICANTS ARE PRE-SCREENED, PRE-QUALIFIED AND SELECTED BASED ON YOUR CRITERIA
They sign a contract which ensures full commitment and ability to meet all job requirements

Host Company Requirements

A hosting company must have a minimum of 5 full-time employees.

Site Visits must be conducted if host companies have not previously participated in the J-1 VISA Program nor meet the following conditions:
- If they have fewer than 25 full-time employees
- Or less than $3 million annual revenue
